While I did make a positive comment about Martha Stewart earlier, I would like to comment on her magazine, more specifically, all magazines that I subscribe to. I just renewed my subscription for Martha Stewart’s magazine through 2007. So, they send me this notice in the mail saying, “this is your last chance to renew your subscription!” Even if I had not renewed my current subscription would not have run out until August of 2004. I hardly see January 2004 as being my “last chance.” Why do all magazine companies do that? It drives me crazy. I digress.

I found this article while perusing Al Jazeera. It is actually kind of funny. Click here to read the article. It is rather humorous that we are not individually concerned with visiting the moon (as a personal priority) but rather as a means to network lol. The fact that this delivery craft will crash into the moon only makes it that much more humorous.

Save the Hubble!

It is pretty ridiculous that NASA wants to get rid of the Hubble. Then we have GWB who wants us to visit the moon. In the words of Jay Leno, “That might be news if this was 1969.” Unless we are thinking of colonizing the moon, I really do not understand what the purpose of visiting again would be. I mean, it is not like Mars where we suspect that water may have been present at one time. Then again, we are not exactly *visiting* Mars. I would rather see money put into the Hubble than a round-trip ticket to the moon. Something tells me that GWB thinks the moon is made of cheese… You can, however, sign the petition to save the Hubble. Sign it here.

I was supposed to go outside and garden today. The day was supposed to be slightly sunny with highs in the 14-15° C range. So, I wake up this morning only to find out that it is about -5° C. The high for today is going to be 1° C. So, I have been working on the website and writing new papers and editing old ones to update them with current information. I am not feeling very good today to top it off. No big deal, I suppose it gives me time to work. ;) Luckily, I did not have to volunteer anywhere today, the day is horrible and I have no desire to go outside.

Man admits stuffing $73 of shrimp in his pants…

By The Associated Press

(1/21/04 - BETHLEHEM, PA) — Not many guys would admit to having a shrimp in their pants.

But Johnny Rodriguez did. He’s pleaded guilty to stuffing $73 worth of shrimp down his pants.

According to records in a Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, court, a store worker saw Rodriguez with his trousers undone October 12th last year. The clerk confronted Rodriguez and told police that Rodriguez began removing bags of shrimp from his unbuckled pants.

But he ran before police arrived. Authorities say he made off with four bags of the seafood. The judge in the case has deferred sentencing. –ABC News Link

I am already making alterations to the site. On the idiots section, I will update it just as soon as I have time to go into a chatroom and attract people with a stupid profile. It should not be hard to do. I also will be adding new pictures, even some of my most prized horticulture specimens. I will also post pictures from my flower show coming up in Feb. where I will hopefully bring home a ribbon or trophy. I will post some new pictures of myself as well. I definitely will at the very least add the names of books and movies that I have read/seen. The writings section will take a little longer than the other aspects. I will definitely need to write and edit some papers and organize them into categories. I may even just scan papers in (if they can be read). The contact information and faqs section is being updated. The pig-cyclopedia is probably the only section staying the same. I will probably also add a section on politics and news, something similar to people doing stupid things in the news. I will throw in some other stuff if I can think of it. ;)

January 20, 2004

I am utterly exhausted. I have been keeping busy going to flower show school, “regular” school, and the multiple societies and clubs I am involved with lately. Since I seem to have a little extra time this week, I believe I will revamp the website a bit and also answer some emails. If anyone has any suggestions about content or added features, I am willing to listen. I will make it a goal to get my writings edited and posted back up on the website. I will also update some of the older content and trash sections that are pretty useless. More later…
