Bush is such an idiot. He keeps spewing out rhetoric about how high gas prices are a matter of national security but all he does is put a little oil from the reserves out on the market. That does not help the oil problem - it just keeps it at bay for a month or two longer. Give me a break.

Yesterday was incredibly hectic. Between getting a call from work about me taking a random drug test and Brian going to the doctor a million other little things happened…

Brian went to the doctor to get a clearance that basically said he was fit to work. So, he made an appointment to go at 1:30 - they opened the office late and then did not call him back until after 2:30. I was supposed to pick him up at 3 PM and showed up but we was not outside waiting. I waited until almost 4PM but he did not come out. Later, I came back and Brian was outside at about 4:15 PM. He said he could not get his clearance because the doctor said his blood pressure was too high - about 160/80 and 150/80. Of course, he had just eaten a high protein sandwich that was 1000 calories so he is sure that contributed to his blood pressure spike -not to mention the stress that he undergoes when he goes to the doctor’s office… He was VERY annoyed. He says he was too informal with them and will require them to call him Doctor next time. He also has to have records of his EKG from Ohio sent to the doctor so she can look at it. She told Brian that his blood pressure has to be lower or she will put him on medication. The nurse also said Brian weighed 267 lbs and she did not blink when she wrote that weight down. The only way Brian could weigh that much is if he stuffed 100 lbs. of lead in his pockets. We bought a blood pressure cuff for him yesterday so we can take his blood pressure at home. His blood pressure is only a bit elevated but no doubt yesterday was stressful… He gets to go back to the doctor to deal with them in another 3-4 weeks after they have a chance to review his records from Ohio and then determine if he can be “fit for work.”

Oh, and he also decided he wants to get an MD so he can be Dr. Dr. Brian Uldall MD, PhD and most importantly so he can “cut people open and fill them full of drugs.” Great. Just what the world needs is for Brian to become a neurosurgeon - be afraid, be very afraid.

Occasionally, we see a roach around the apartment. They are disgusting and vile creatures and I detest them immensely. Other insects I do not mind, really. Roaches are absolutely intolerable. While walking into the bathroom this morning I saw a roach scurrying across the floor. I grabbed a book from the living room that weighs about 7-8 lbs. and tossed the book on the roach. The roach and book are still lying on the bathroom floor and I am far too horrified to go to clean it up or use the restroom. I hope that Brian will clean it up. He knows how I hate to kill bugs and how I cannot even look at roaches without recoiling. However, he also thinks it is funny… I told him to get me a bug vacuum and then I will suck them up.  I do not wish to harm them.

In other news, it seems that my fever has now gone and my temperature has returned to normal. I am only congested and coughing occasionally now - this is a great improvement.

I have been sick for a few days now. It started with me coughing last week and now I am running a fever and I am congested. Brian and I both think it has something to do with my immune system being short on defenses due to to me working out so hard lately. I just wish that I had called in sick to work today - oh well. I do not even feel like eating anything and that is saying a lot considering I usually eat 5000 calories per day…

Click here to read about a story that happened here in Hilo. Brian and I were trying to get to the gym as all this was happening. This guy got shot right across from the gym we go to and they had the streets all shut down. We had to park a long way from the gym and walk down the sidewalk of a ghost town Hilo to get to the gym. You could still see the puddle of blood on the road where they shot and killed the guy. Then they covered it up with some kind of weird powder that got rid of all the guts and goo. It was creepy that they shot the guy in the head - that seems rather harsh since he was barefoot, unarmed, and not even a violent criminal. You would think they would have just shot him in the leg or something…

Post of randomness…

Given that our hot water heater is fried, we are getting a new one, yay! The new one will definitely be more energy efficient so we will not have a $175 electric bill, thank goodness. Our old hot water heater is currently being drained and the guy who is installing the new one is off buying a new hot water heater.

I am sleepy - we only got 6.5 hours of sleep last night and I generally need 9 hours to function properly and build muscle. I must work on this!

We have books all over our apartment - they are thrown hither and thither and are definite trip hazards.

I am finally in contact with a good nutritionist to help me make the most of my diet - with 5000 or so calories per day I need help!

Brian found out this morning that you can get cheap almonds at Cost-U-Less and we don’t even have to pay a membership fee like at Costco.

We need to start scoping out potential places to buy a new house next year we are thinking of looking in Papa’ikou down to Hilo or somewhere in the vicinity - maybe even close to here on a little street with interesting and unique older plantation (sugar) homes. They are really funky…

We were awakened at 3:30 AM this morning to find that our inflatable bed was closer to the floor than when we went to sleep. Joy. Even better, the hole was in the top of the bed and not the bottom - we have no idea how it happened. We went to Walmart (aka The Evil Empire) at 6 AM to buy a new bed. Great. We hope this one will hold up - it is smaller, which stinks but it takes up less space in the room which is nice. Walmart did not even have a decent selection of beds to choose from. Whenever we have family stay with us, we are going to have to order an airbed online, I think. I am so tired I have no idea what I really just said.

This morning, when Brian was getting ready to go to work, he came out of the bedroom wearing a red polo shirt. I looked at it rather carefully and noticed that it was mine.  While we do often share clothes it struck me that he was wearing a dress!!! I told him, but I am not sure that he believed me, so he pulled the shirt tail out, which I proceeded to pull down and show him that it went down to his knees and YES it is a dress. I wish I had a picture because it would have been great. First day at work and he tries to wear a dress…

Brian and I have these cargo trekking shorts in size L and XL. We only have one pair in size L so he wears them everyday - and when I say everyday I mean EVERYDAY. We only have our laundry done once per month so he wears these shorts to the gym, to work, to walk outside in, to go everywhere and he NEVER washes them not even on laundry day. He LOVES these shorts but I need to find him more - the XL shorts are way too big on him and he practically lives in the L shorts.

Here is a picture:

I desperately need to find these shorts in size L - any color will work and used is fine. He will not change his shorts unless I find him more! Someone, help me find more, please!!!
