For the first time in many months all of my email has been answered and attended to and I have nothing - absolutely nothing - in my inbox. Today has been extraordinarily hectic to say the least. I had a bushel of emails to answer, 140 lbs of fabric being delivered, a seamstress with a broken sewing machine who needed to use my not so great sewing machine, a seamstress dropping off bags, a seamstress attempting to sew bags after showing up really really late when I had an appointment to go to, a hair appointment, a purchase of a new sewing machine, website work, and other things I cannot even remember.
The sewing machine that I bought is a Brother with an onboard computer. It does a number of fancy stitches that might come in handy for something. More importantly it is all computerized and handles a myriad of details so that I do not have to think about them.
My seamstress got absolutely nothing done today. She sat in my office and yapped and I got almost nothing done except for a few emails. She also brought her son who was loud and obnoxious. I seriously don’t need that in my office.
At least tomorrow I can watch two uninterrupted hours of Sherlock Holmes (The Hound of the Baskervilles) - that will be a welcome relief.
But tonight, we will do our regular workout of pain after this exhausting day.

After reading Volume I of the Sherlock Holmes tales I moved onto Volume II and began the ever popular Hound of the Baskervilles. It is probably my least favorite novella of the series since Dr. Watson is really the main character. I could see the appeal for most people since Dr. Watson (ISFJ) is far more approachable than Holmes (INTJ). It is really not until the end that Holmes makes an official appearance and then it is only to explain the who, what, when & where to all parties involved. I prefer the tales of Holmes and Moriarty to these silly stories though.
I seem to be strangely sleepy today. More sleep is required. More later…

I shall recount now for all to hear the movie horror that hath befallen me this week…
First, we saw Pirates of the Caribbean 3 at the theater which was visually stunning but the plot was nowhere to be found.
Then, we saw The One with Jet Li, Idiocracy, and the beginning of Season 2 of Friends. The One was not great - it was rather boring and the story was slow. The martial arts left a bit to be desired considering that he outmatched all of his opponents because of his super human strength.
Idiocracy - where do I start? It was humorous in the very beginning where the above average couple is talking about how having children is a big commitment and they do not want to rush into anything. Then, the next shot is of a below average couple who is on child 15 (or something similar) who keep having stupid kids because they don’t think about the consequences of their actions. The above average couple continues to age and they never have kids but they dumb people take over the earth. After that, the movie was really quite bad and cheesy. I think the bottom line is that humanity should change before they become stupid. A public service announcement would have done nicely…
Then, Brian wanted to get Friends Season 2 (Disc 1) from Blockbuster. We watched Season 1 but I am not sure if I really like the show - it seems too similar to Seinfeld in many ways but never as good as Seinfeld.
I think I am finished rambling.

My birthday has occurred. I am a year older. That is the extent of the excitement. I am giving up birthdays.

I am not sure why I was just thinking this but I think it is really sort of morbid that they serve seafood at Sea World. I mean, do they get it out of the tanks? Brian ate seafood at sea world…

Brian just sent me this link from the wondrous Fox News - the bastion of fair & balanced news (ha). I am actually surprised that they report science related happenings. At any rate, I read this strange little blip about the missing Chilean Lake and thought it was rather interesting. Brian said that he thought it was very X-Files like - I have to agree. It does seem rather odd that a lake would disappear through fissures without earthquake activity. I, unlike Brian, am not really willing to entertain the notion that aliens came to take the water. It is more probable that the LA Water Authority stole the water. Considering they have stolen all the water throughout California (and probably other states too) I would not be surprised that they are having to resort to other countries. They should really check to see if any pipes underground are leading to LA. They have to water the desert, you know.

George Bush was quoted as saying, “Destroying human life in the hopes of saving human life is not ethical” (in regards to stem cell research). I thought this quote was rather humorous because his philosophy towards life is inconsistent. He has a hand in slaying Americans and Iraqis in the name of freedom yet his own philosophy seemingly advocates non-violence. Does he not see the irony in the fact that he is doing the very thing he says is unethical? No, of course he does not see the irony - he is a moron. Never mind.
I was reading this Time article on Michael Moore and how he is now mainstream. It is odd, really, because Brian and I watched Fahrenheit 911 just this year and did not see anything outlandish or crazy about it. Years ago, that film was hotly contested and people thought it was a bunch of lies. Now, the truth has come out and people actually think of that movie as being completely mainstream. He does not even really seem like a controversial person to me.

Work is going well and it is quite plentiful. I’m developing a diaper bag, a new clutch, and a new bag with bamboo handles this week.
Sleep is not going so well and it is not plentiful. Exhaustion ensues!
I am trying to sell an industrial sewing machine and an industrial serger that one of my seamstresses has stored here. She was going to use it but then decided not to so I am trying to get rid of them, besides, I get to keep 50% of the proceeds.
I hate the shipping costs to Hawaii so I am taking steps to remedy that. I had been planning a trek to San Francisco for the annual fabric buying show for the trade later in the year to get my fabric for the year. I figured that would save me time and money but a new opportunity has presented itself. A Hawaii manufacturer of aloha/Hawaiian fabric will actually bring ALL the fabric to my house so I never have to go anywhere and I get wholesale prices. I cannot beat that and I do not pay any shipping costs.
Has anyone ever eaten TastyBite Indian food? It is already cooked and ready to eat and it comes in a little pouch. I had it when I visited my parents because they don’t allow any real cooking in their kitchen - only microwave pouch cooking. Anyway, I thought they were really quite good (which is very surprising) but they were really healthy (low-fat, not high in calories, and the sodium is not bad either). They also have Thai food as well. I ordered some online and had it shipped to my parents so they could send it to us. I was not paying $150 to have it shipped to Hawaii overnight when I could pay just $9 and my parents could send it in a flat-rate box.
Now, I am waiting for an email that has not come that I need for a meeting. Joyous.

I am trying to create my business WordPress theme and I am not having very much fun with it. It is probably because I am exhausted and too busy with other things to give this small project my full attention. I shall have to allot more time to this…

We are all INTJs, that is what.
I have had a growing interest in Sherlock Holmes (as I have mentioned in a previous post) and I have been reading all of the short stories and novellas written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Brian and I have also watched The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes 5 DVD set and it is quite excellent. I have much enjoyed reading the stories and then see them play out on film. In some ways the film version is entirely different because it is not so much from the perspective of Watson like the books are - this does give the watcher an advantage in being able to more closely follow along in the story and it provides more clues earlier on in the story.
I also happened upon a discussion thread on how most villains in stories seem to be INTJs while the hero tends to be ISTJ or INTP.  I found this to be a bit of interesting speculation. Brian and I were just discussing how it is interesting that both Sherlock Holmes and Professor Moriarty are both INTJs who have profound respect for the other’s intellect but at the same time they are both the other’s arch nemesis. It is clear that one has chosen ‘good’ and the other ‘evil’ and they fight it out at Riechenbach Falls. As I mentioned to Brian - INTJs seem to fight it out amongst one another but assert dominance over other types. Really, this is the reason I stay away from INTJ message boards and discussion groups. This is really the sort of thing I would like to have a conversation with another INTJ about but INTJs almost as a rule seem to hate each other and are almost unable to have a cohesive and useful conversation with one another.
I also find this sort of thing interesting because I (and Brian too) are interested in INTP and INTJ interactions since almost nothing exists about how these two types function together. I think at one time we had discussed making a profile of INTP and INTJ interactions…
More later, on some topics…

…That’s all I ever do. At least I enjoy it! I have been working with a new PR & Marketing firm in Atlanta instead of the terrible PR/Marketing people I had spoken with in LA. I was unable to find a Hawaii based PR firm that worked with people in fashion. I have promised to drag Brian to fabric buying shows open only to the trade. I think he is just happier about the location of these shows as opposed to actually going with me. I have a lot of bags being sewn right now and a ton more in development. I need an assistant desperately. It will be rather hard to find one here on the Big Island but we will see… My migraines are picking up - it is probably directly correlated with my workload.
Brian and I have been spending more time in the ocean. He has actually been having fun snorkeling but he has yet to try bodyboarding. Maybe next time around he will give it a try… Brian’s parents are coming in July for his birthday - hopefully we should be able to all go snorkeling and maybe I can catch a few waves at some point.
Too many thoughts are currently going through my head - more later!

My birthday is coming up on June 22 and Brian and I picked out my gift online. I am getting a right hand ring - it’s beautiful. It’s a stunning peridot and diamond ring. The picture from the jeweler:

Brian wants a weird chakra ring so he is in the midst of picking one out. I asked him not to purchase another weird piece of jewelry that has weird “casted spells” on it.

I have been incredibly busy for a number of reasons. I am launching my handbag line literally *right now* and have been extremely busy hiring people and working with fabric and designing bags. Also, I visited my family in Georgia and attended to a few business related things while there. Brian and I have also been doing more outdoor activities. He’s been doing water activities with me lately and we are having a lot of fun. I body boarded some treacherous shore break two weeks ago and that was fun. Brian and I went snorkeling at Kahalu’u Beach Park in Kona and we both had a blast. I prefer the reef when the water is deeper but I think it was better for him - he prefers it when it is more shallow. Everything fun on this island is pretty much free or dirt cheap - it’s great.
I have been reading Sherlock Holmes lately so Brian and I also started watching the Sherlock Holmes series from the 1980’s - what a fabulous series. I highly recommend it (The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes). Sherlock Holmes is supposed to be a textbook INTJ - it is interesting. Brian thinks Holmes is great and he would be friends with him. This makes sense since Brian is attracted to INTJs. I, however, dislike every INTJ I’ve come in contact with and prefer to read things written by them or see/read things that star an INTJ. While I like watching Holmes and reading about him I know that I would dislike him profusely if I knew him in person. INTJs do seem to dislike one another as a rule…
