My return from Georgia and my subsequent trepidation...

I have just returned from a two week trip to Georgia to visit family and procure new business and personal goods. I had a nice time and was able to spend several days in Savannah and Tybee. I had a nice visit with my parents and grandmother…

I was able to do quite a bit on my trip and had a really good visit with everyone. As usual, I was able to go shopping and get all the things that are impossible to find here. After a long 10 hour flight to Honolulu from Atlanta I was able to get home to Hilo in just under an hour and finally arrived here ready to fall asleep.

I will probably write more about this later when I am not so restless and agitated…

I also received an email today from the company that is searching for my birth parents. It would seem that I was not born in Florida but rather that I was born in Colorado. My parents knew nothing about this - they were shocked when I told them. This is just totally out of left field - we had no idea. I even have a Florida birth certificate (not original, of course).

I am dumbfounded. This whole situation has me wondering what other information surrounding my birth is untrue. I don’t even know what to say about this. Everyone around me keeps telling me it is not important but no one understands - they aren’t adopted , they know without a doubt where they were born, no one keeps their birth certificate locked up in a courthouse that would require them to go to court for months just to open the record, no one told them that they were born in one state when they were actually born in another, and they don’t have to wonder if everything they knew about how, where, when, and why they were born is entirely untrue. I’m irritated, frustrated, and angry. But what can I do?

Actually, I’ve been told numerous times by my parental units that I was left on the doorstep. In any case, it seems highly unlikely that you are from Colorado. Even if you first appeared in a Colorado hospital, I believe you are actually from another planet altogether so the whole Colorado-Florida issue would appear to be moot.

I know what you mean, I hate unresolved mysteries. I know a girl who’s not sure her brother is her real one, and it’s been tormenting her forever, but she won’t steal one little hair and do a test to find out. I would in a blink because then I could move on to something else.
There’s no easy way to this, you just have to keep looking, and one day you’ll find your biological parents.

Brian, you look just like your parents and you all share similar behavioral traits and habits - it’s kind of funny to me to see the similarities! However, you also take this for granted.

Seifer, why won’t your friend just ask her brother to do a blood test if it is that big of a deal? Besides, if she has grown up with him her whole life I’m not sure how he could be more “real.”

I really just want health information and to see and hear what these people are like. I supposedly have a biological sister who is older than me that I think would be interesting to find out more about. It will be interesting to see what comes out of all of this.

Yeah by real I meant biological. To me it wouldn’t matter though.
My friend doesn’t do the test because she’s afraid of what she could find out.
Among others, it would mean that her mother slept around.
