I have been sick for a few days now. It started with me coughing last week and now I am running a fever and I am congested. Brian and I both think it has something to do with my immune system being short on defenses due to to me working out so hard lately. I just wish that I had called in sick to work today - oh well. I do not even feel like eating anything and that is saying a lot considering I usually eat 5000 calories per day…

I bet some people are going to be sue happy over this issue. Can you say privacy right violations? I will buy my printers from Mexico from now on. Ole!
We have been using the German Volume Training Method now for about two week sessions and my legs are quite sore. But I think that I am gaining more muscle mass, which I have no doubt been doing anyway. In other related news, I have decided to start using creatine. I am still waiting for my vegetarian plant derived creatine (DiMaxx) to arrive. I am interested and anxious to see what it will do for my lifting. I did a great deal of research about creatine and really think this is a positive way to go. We shall see…
We have our race coming up on Thanksgiving and we are excited about that. I am running quite comfortably now and feel good. I also have decided I abhor the elliptical trainer, it is incredibly boring compared to weight lifting and/or running.
My grandmother was in the hospital twice over the last two weeks. First, she thought she was having a heart attack because she had muscle soreness in her arm. Then they gave her a medication for inducing stress on the heart to make sure her heart was OK and it had psychotropic properties so she had another bout of schizophrenia. After she left the hospital she was totally fine. The next weekend, when my father was out of town and my mother was home alone, she woke up and saw drool on her pillow so she called 911 saying she had had a seizure. She has never had a seizure nor did she have one. Even I drool when I sleep sometimes. And now, all of a sudden, with me calling her more often, my parents paying more attention to her, and everyone else paying more attention to her, her shoulder has magically healed itself and she no longer thinks that she needs to go to the orthopedic surgeon to chat about her shoulder and why it hurts. She also wants a computer. Yeah, that is going to happen. I did make fun of Brian by telling him that my grandma had a cell phone before he ever had one (of course, he only has one because I brought one to the marriage with me and insisted on using it). He hates cellphones.
Our 15 lb. medicine ball is proving to be a fun thing to use with our ab workouts, it causes an immense amount of pain!
Our next door neighbor (that we have to share a hallway with) smokes and he stinks. We always prop the door open so the odor can get out. We have used bricks and rocks to hold the door open and someone in the building does not like it. They have tried to throw the bricks out into the lawn, throw them into a bush, and steal them. So, when all the bricks and rocks were gone, we started freeing up cinder blocks within the apartment to use. One cinder block has been stolen and we are just waiting for the next one to be stolen. We know it is not the single man next door who is stealing them…but someone is.
We are gearing up for our move on Dec. 13 to Kamuela. Yay!

We got our 15 lb. medicine ball in the mail today, yay! We are having great fun with arm plyometrics despite my wearing a wrist splint in order to prevent further CTS related damage.
Because I am wearing a wrist splint during the day and while I sleep, it is difficult to do some tasks. One of those tasks is flossing my teeth, so, I used this weird flosser that Brian had in the medicine cabinet (because it is easier to use…it has a handle), especially since they had his endorsement. He said, “They work great!” After I flossed half of my mouth, I got the flosser stuck in between two teeth. So, I walked into the office where he was and said, “How are these good?” And he informed me that I must be the only person to ever get the flosser stuck in their teeth. Indeed, it was stuck and it was not going anywhere. Brian then had the pleasure of cutting it out of my mouth. Joy. Then I used regular floss, so I would not have to have anymore flossers cut from my mouth.
We went walking outside tonight and went to the Wetlands Observation tower at the OSU Wetlands Research Center and we saw a big garbage bag full of something (which we suspect to be a homeless guy) and the remnants of his fast food dinner. That was the second time we had seen a homeless person up there. At least we think it was a homeless person in the trash bag…
We have finally ordered our moving boxes for our big move in December. Brian is finishing up his dissertation and is doing weird Mars research. I am busy with random business things, web design for our businesses, and selling things on eBay. Also, we are continuing to train everyday. I am training for the Strongwoman competitions and Brian is training for all kinds of running. We are having a lot of fun too!

We had a great start to “arms day” in the gym. I maxed out on five of my arm exercises and am very happy about the progress I have been making. Also, Brian and I were talking about finding vegetarian sponsors for me. It seems that all female Strongwoman contenders eat meat so I might very well be the only female that is sponsored by vegetarian companies in any of the Strongwoman competitions. This could be very beneficial for us in the long run as vegetarian companies are always looking to find vegetarian athletes that belong to all different sports. We are working hard to get ready for any potential competition that we might find early next year. At this point, we are just focusing on my training and hunting around for any interesting competitions…

Since the weather was so nice today we decided to go for a short hike. Also, I am feeling much better and thought I could handle some light exercise. We embarked on a short little one mile hike and it was cute and easy so we drove to another park area and decided to go on what we thought was another easy little one mile loop trail. The sign said “1 mile loop” but what it really should have said is “10 mile (or more) loop of mud and general grossness through boring woods near a lake.” So, we hiked on that trail for over two hours through mud and other grossness. Our shoes were soaked and nasty and so were our legs and clothes. Finally, we realized that the trail was not one mile nor were we even heading back to where we started. So, Brian investigated another trail and it ended up going to a road. We followed the road (and saw old people so we knew they must have parked close to where they were) for about a mile and we finally found the park entrance and the car. We got in the car and I vowed to find the park ranger and teach them about properly calculating mileage on trails and also about properly marking trails, not to mention what a trash clean-up day is… Brian did find this neat little green Indian figure on the trail. It looks sort of like a neon green GI Joe. I am interested to see if it glows in the dark…

It is really quite interesting how the body reacts to dehydration. After a vigorous kickboxing workout and no water I began to see very strange things… Of course, this is not the first time I have done this. Perhaps, it is true that I lack common sense…

I tried a Zen Core Workout just a few minutes ago and it was quite painful and hard. Hmm, I’m not so sure that it brings inner peace but it does indeed bring neck pain upon me a great deal. I’ve also noticed that my journal has become almost a log of my workout activities, hmm, that’s horrid. Although, they tend to spawn these insights and bizarre manifestations inside myself of things that need to get out. Some odd things I’ve been experiencing this week are increased heart rate all the time and lightheaded. Hmm, I wonder what my body is trying to tell me?
