Can you describe enlightenment? If you can describe enlightenment, do you think it is the same for everyone?

Random Thought: Why is it that thousands of books exist on Voltaire yet he wrote next to nothing in volume? How can so much be said about so little?

I have begun to notice some extraordinarily interesting things within myself these last few days. In the process of being more social, I have completely withdrawn myself from everyone. It seems like a great contradiction in words however, it is all quite real and yet surreal at the same time. I am charting the patterns which I have seen emerge over the last few years when I begin going through this process. It is almost like a ritualistic defense mechanism of some sort. The curious aspect is why it occurs in patterns and not at random or by a trigger of some sort. I will have to delve into more study of this.

I shall pose an interesting situation.

One is faced with a life of monotony and contentment because the world they live in does not offer more and more cannot be created by the law they are governed by. Original thought no longer exists in that society. The person also has the chance to delve into mediocrity, something they have never before experienced. Is mediocrity that which they lack and should strive for simply because they have never experienced it before? Is it possible that this person is incapable of mediocrity?

What does one do when the world is without challenge and life is without meaning because the world is without challenge? When one has traveled down a path in search of nothing, only to enjoy the path, what do they do when the road is still not traveled but is now predictable because of one’s own equation of predicatbility? Should one savor the moment that the calculation was wrong even though living for the hope of one moment to occur is futile and contrived? Is life really about living to be miserable in order to learn?

I had a religious discussion with my mother this evening. It produced some interesting conversation, mostly it was amusing for me. She told me proof of God’s existence lies in the fact that men have one less rib than women. I thought this was interesting since both genders possess the same number of ribs. She then read a verse out of the Bible stating that men have one less than women because Eve was forged from the rib of Adam. I then proceeded to show skeletal drawings of both males and females. After showing them to her, counting my own ribs, counting my dads ribs, and explaining, she called me a liar. The next topic of conversation was about murder. I asked her to define how killing is inherently not good without using God or law as an excuse. She could not do it. I am moving to the mountains and living in a underground bunker. All these religious nuts are crazy.

Today I spent most of the day “celebrating” my birthday with my lovely family. Since I’m adopted I have two birthdays, one in June and another in September, which is my adoption day. Today, I went to the melting pot for dinner and now I’m cleaning my office. Of all the things I could be doing, I’m doing that. I was reading a good bit of Sartre today, it’s his fiction novel, “Nausea.” It’s a great read, I highly suggest it, I’ll be posting an opinion and synopsis in my reading section soon along with the other books I choose to post. :) Since I am cleaning so much this will leave me a great deal of time to work and update the site as well. I know I’ve been procrastinating about it a great deal but I am going to upload all the things I worked on while on my trip.

It is much more common for a person to appear to have character because he always acts in accord with his temperament, rather than because he always acts in accord with his principles.

I’m quite happy now in this bizarre way. After going through all these changes in the last year, I’m glad to be finally reaching this perfect state of my life. I am my own utopia. I’ve come to this point actually knowing what lies ahead, it’s always been that path and it’s merely been ridding my life of the “crap” that got in the way. Even many people whom I believe to be a help were really just cest pools of rotting human waste and they too are quickly being cleaned or have been cleaned out of my life. I’m all the better for it, I’ve never felt healthier, happier, and and even humorous thanks to a new addition in my life. In other words, those who don’t belong in my life will no longer be in it. :)
