I have been working on getting my logo finished for the last month. Initially, I used a logo company recommended to me by the marketing/PR firm that I was working with and that turned out to be disastrous. It has taken well over a month to get a pile of crap from them. Fortunately, I found a firm that specializes in taking logo concepts and fixing them. And fix it they did - the new logo is great.

I am also in the market for banner design for advertising on various websites/blogs. If anyone can recommend a good designer for banners I would greatly appreciate it.

Also, in case anyone noticed. I added Sphere content for the website. Essentially, it is a way for you (and me too) to read other blogs or websites about topics that are similar to something I have posted about - check it out.

In other news, I have been randomly ill today for some unknown reason.

I also found out my parents are coming to visit in November. Yay. We will also be staying in Honolulu for a couple of days at a nice resort so I can shop and do some other fun things.

Day One of Gallbladder Cleanse

This is day one of my gallbladder/gallstone cleanse. I am going to be drinking only apple juice and water for the next four days…fun. I suppose that is fine with me anyway since it is too painful to eat any kind of solid food. Hopefully, I will feel completely better after day four. More updates to come (on other things besides my gallbladder cleansing/fasting).

It really is quite amazing how some people react to taking medication. My grandmother called this morning to say she was out of medication and needed me to come and refill her medication containers. She was not actually out of medication she simply did not know what day it was. Nonetheless, I arrived with medication to refill the other days and she took her morning dosage. She puts the pills in her mouth and swallows them. Before the pills even made it into her stomach she declares that the medication has already made her feel “much better.” It is unclear to me how an aspirin could make her feel better, especially when the aspirin is for children. Actually, it is rather clear, she is nuts and obviously has some kind of psychological dependence upon all her medication. Of course, this is the same woman that took a very toxic drug for years and never told her doctor about the side effects because “the doctor knows what is best for me.” Disturbing.

A funny side note…

My grandmother (the crazy one) attended the flower show with me today. She also just came back from a trip to San Luis Obispo, CA. She told me that she would bring me something back from San Luis Obispo. She brings me back a cookbook that pertains to Santa Barbara. Santa Barbara is over 100 miles away from San Luis Obispo… The fact that it is a cookbook on cooking seafood is even more humorous given that I am a vegetarian. She still thinks vegetarian means “person who eats meat” after all these years.

On a bad note and a more personal one, my other grandmother is dying of cancer. The cancer is spreading all over her body and right now, it is on her shoulder, lungs, and the lymph nodes in her chest. The doctor says that she has about six months to live. She is not even able to receive surgery or chemotherapy due to her current health. She can receive radiation but even that will only prolong her life for one year. She has opted not to receive treatment. She has lost a great deal of weight over the last few months. Of course, she only weighed about 98 pounds before this all started. She is down to 78 pounds and continues to lose about two pounds per week. If she continues at the rate of two pounds per week, I do not see how she could survive longer than another two months or less. This is a horrible time for my family.

I had no idea I was even allergic to ragweed but apparently I am! So, every time I get into the Cadillac or walk into the room where the arrangement was, my sinuses start bothering me. I feel like I have someone pressing my face rather hard. Tomorrow will be a better day. I am taking the car to get it vacuumed out and have the carpets cleaned. Hopefully, that will take care of the ragweed problem.

Oh dear god, if the day got any worse I might kill someone. Firstly, I went to bed really late last night only to awake to my grandmother shouting “katy, katy, katy…” So, I walked out to find her screaming and crying in a chair. I said what’s wrong? She said she hurt her ankle, so I said ok lets go to the emergency room. She’s like ok just get my walker, I said do you think you can walk on it? She said maybe. So she gets down one stair with the walker, looking like an idiot because she’s totally doing it wrong. I end up having to pick her up and carry her up the stair and oh my god is she heavy. So we get inside I call 911. What fun what fun. I had to make some calls to my mom and dad (out of the country) to come to the hospital. I told them to take her to one hospital because her doctors practice out of there. In the ambulance she decides to go to a hospital 40 mins away from the other hospital which me and my mom are both on the way too. So yea, I was pissed. So we get to the *right* hospital. I had to fill out all this paperwork and do all this junk. She’s having her surgery tomorrow at 730 AM, and I have to be there at 630 AM! Then my other grandma calls this evening to tell my mom she’s going to see a vascular surgeon about her leg because she’s having more problems. She also had her hip replaced in August. My other grandma, the one in the hospital now has been in two other times in the last year. Grrrr, too much hospital time makes Katy a very annoyed girl. I fell down the stairs like 7 months ago but did anyone help me? NO. Rude.
